On arrival in Tunis, in-depth consultation with the surgeon: clinical examination, 3D CBCT scan if not already done, bone volume analysis, periodontal assessment. The treatment plan is confirmed or adjusted. Quote signed before any procedure.

What is the difference between a dentist and an implantologist?
A general dentist can perform crowns, fillings, and simple extractions. An implantologist is a dental surgeon who has completed advanced training in bone and implant surgery (2-3 additional years after the general degree). They master bone grafts, zygomatic implants, GBR, and complex cases. At Implant Dentaire Tunisie, all implants are placed by practitioners exclusively trained in implantology.
How long does my first stay for implants take?
For single or multiple implant placement, the first stay generally takes 5 to 8 days: day 1 consultation + scan, days 2-3 surgery + sutures, days 4-7 post-operative monitoring and provisional crown. For All-on-4 or All-on-6, allow 8 to 12 days. The second stay for the definitive crown lasts 3 to 5 days, approximately 5 months later.
Is implant placement painful?
The procedure takes place under complete local anaesthesia — the patient feels no pain during surgery. Post-operative effects include moderate swelling and mild to moderate pain for 3 to 5 days, managed with paracetamol or ibuprofen. Conscious sedation (nitrous oxide) is offered free of charge to very anxious patients.
Are implants placed in Tunisia guaranteed?
Yes. All implants placed at Implant Dentaire Tunisie are guaranteed for 10 years. The All-on-4/6 prosthetic framework is guaranteed for life on the implant structure. In case of problems (rejection, implant fracture), we will handle resolution at no additional cost. The implant passport is recognised by European practitioners.
How does follow-up work after returning home?
Our post-operative follow-up protocol includes: photographic and clinical check before leaving Tunis, video teleconsultation with the surgeon at Day 7, Day 30, Month 3, and Month 6. Team available 7 days a week on WhatsApp for any questions. In case of complication, we coordinate with a local practitioner if needed.
